It's designed to mostly benefit the lending institutions. You can be perfect for 20 years,then miss one payment (maybe you didn't receive your statement or your payment was lost in the mail) and WHAMMY, down goes your score. 20 years of being perfect doesn't matter,that one late payment gives the BANKS the right to charge you more interest on anything you buy.That's fair! Does anybody care? ONLY YOU! The 3 credit bureaus have done their jobs,making more money for the banks,who are already making OBSENE interest on you charges. Somebody has to SPEAKOUT for the average person.But who? Who will they listen to? NOT ME! NOT YOU! How many of us would have to complain to be heard?
